Sunrise is a city in central-western Broward County, FL, just minutes away from Fort Lauderdale and less than an hour from Miami and Palm Beach.
Originally known as Sunrise Golf Village, the city was renamed in 1971. Today, Sunrise is home to approximately 92,000 residents and plays host to millions of visitors throughout the year. The city is easily accessible via several major highways including I-595, I-75 and the Sawgrass Expressway as well as three international airports and two deep-water ports.
