06/2007 - The Firm is filing a Petition for Writ of Habeas Corpus in a case where the alleged victim of a capital sexual battery recanted her trial testimony and gave a statement in our office explaining that she wanted to come forward and correct what she testified to at trial under pressure when she was a juvenile. The victim states that she was never raped and that she was pressured by the police, the prosecutor, and even her own mother to testify at trial and that none of these adults accepted her assertions when she was a juvenile that the police had arrested the wrong man for the alleged capital sexual battery.
 


06/2007 -
The Firm is currently conducting an independent investigation into the shooting death of an individual by the police. This investigation has shown that the police shot the individual twice in the back. A bullet that was missed by the crime scene unit was uncovered by investigators working on the case. Information discovered by the Firm will be turned over to prosecutors to present to the grand jury to determine whether or not the police acted appropriately. More information will be forthcoming after the investigation is complete. Witnesses or people with any information about the shooting should contact the office immediately.
 


Case update:
Police executed search warrants in the cyberstalking case last week and are processing computer evidence. More information will be forthcoming.
 


06/2007 -
The Firm is filing a Petition for Writ of Habeas Corpus on behalf of a mentally retarded individual who is serving a prison sentence of life in prison after being convicted following a jury trial. Although he was not legally competent to proceed to trial, his former attorney never requested a competency hearing. The Firm is trying to right this wrong and get his conviction vacated.
 


05/2007 -
The Firm is assisting a local corporation in determining how much money was stolen by a former employee and in recovering that money and bringing the former employee to justice.
