Police: Fake Web ads targeted rival  (NEW)
 

12/2007 - A North Miami-Dade real estate agent was charged Wednesday with posting fake escort ads on the Internet using a rival's phone numbers, sparking hundreds of raunchy calls that nearly drove the woman to a nervous breakdown. Dean Isenberg, 40, was booked into Miami-Dade County Jail at 12:09 p.m. He posted $10,000 bond late Wednesday.

Department of Children & Families, Broward Sheriff’s Office under fire for alleged negligence in case of two minors physically/sexually abused  (NEW)
 

10/2007 - According to a complaint filed with the Circuit Court of the 17th Judicial Circuit for Broward County, the Department of Children and Families (DCF), and Broward County Sheriff’s Office (BSO) were negligent in the case of two young girls removed from their mother’s custody and turned over to their father, after which they were allegedly physically and sexually abused by their father’s relatives with his knowledge.

07/2007 - Last fall hundreds of men called Debbie on the phone after someone posted a false advertisement with her name offering sex with a slogan that ''you'll go home with a smile'' for the right price. The responses went to Debbie Blasberg, 44, a realtor in Miami-Dade, married with children. Someone posted several false sex ads along with her actual phone number on Craigslist.com.

Homeowner group’s ex-leader accused of theft
 

02/2007 - Something had gone wrong in the quiet Boca Rio Townhomes neighborhood near the Broward County line, residents noticed last year. The sprinklers stopped working. Suit says Boca Rio funds misspent
 

The former president of the Boca Rio Townhome Association improperly spent hundreds of thousands of dollars over a three-year period, depleting association accounts and leaving owners scrambling to pay contractors, according to a lawsuit filed Friday. The former president and her husband, who have since moved out of the complex, and the former vice president spent $622,070 on online gaming services, mortgage payments, airplane tickets sold in at least four states, cell phone and cable services and on an online music service, among other things, according to the lawsuit.

Price v. Unemployment Appeals Commission, et al.
 

Consideration for pro se petitioners Pro se petitioners in unemployment cases should be given a “liberal opportunity” to comply with legal requirements surrounding their case, the 4th DCA said in ordering further proceedings for a man who sought to challenge a ruling that he was not eligible for unemployment benefits.

QUANNAH BOWERS, Appellant, v. STATE OF FLORIDA
 

Bowers pled guilty to numerous counts in an open plea to the court. In his post-conviction motion, Bowers sought to withdraw his pleas arguing they were not intelligently and voluntarily entered. Bowers alleged counsel affirmatively misadvised him that he would receive no more than 82 months in prison.
