NEWS

 

06/2007 - The Firm is filing a Petition for Writ of Habeas Corpus in a case where the alleged victim of a capital sexual battery recanted her trial testimony and gave a statement in our office explaining that she wanted to come forward and correct what she testified to at trial under pressure when she was a juvenile. The victim states that she was never raped and that she was pressured by the police, the prosecutor, and even her own mother to testify at trial and that none of these adults accepted her assertions when she was a juvenile that the police had arrested the wrong man for the alleged capital sexual battery.

06/2007 - The Firm is currently conducting an independent investigation into the shooting death of an individual by the police. This investigation has shown that the police shot the individual twice in the back. A bullet that was missed by the crime scene unit was uncovered by investigators working on the case. Information discovered by the Firm will be turned over to prosecutors to present to the grand jury to determine whether or not the police acted appropriately. More information will be forthcoming after the investigation is complete. Witnesses or people with any information about the shooting should contact the office immediately.

		Police: Fake Web ads targeted rival
		12/2007 - A North Miami-Dade real estate agent was charged Wednesday with posting fake escort ads on the Internet using a rival's phone numbers, sparking hundreds of raunchy calls that nearly drove the woman to a nervous breakdown. Dean Isenberg, 40, was booked into Miami-Dade County Jail at 12:09 p.m. He posted $10,000 bond late Wednesday. Complete Article

		Department of Children & Families, Broward Sheriff’s Office under fire for alleged negligence in case of two minors physically/sexually abused
		10/2007 - According to a complaint filed with the Circuit Court of the 17th Judicial Circuit for Broward County, the Department of Children and Families (DCF), and Broward County Sheriff’s Office (BSO) were negligent in the case of two young girls removed from their mother’s custody and turned over to their father, after which they were allegedly physically and sexually abused by their father’s relatives with his knowledge. 		Questions increase about Broward sheriff's business deals
		08/2007 - Broward Sheriff Ken Jenne held private business meetings at the Sheriff's Office and even traveled to Louisiana to test an oil-cleaning invention in a commercial venture that failed, according to a witness expected to testify today to the federal grand jury investigating Jenne.
